Wintergreen, also called teaberry or checkerberry, are grown mainly in the Northern USA, Southern Canada, and China. Wintergreen plants have small red berries called deerberries surrounding the plant. Wintergreen oil has a woody and minty scent, and is often used to flavor gum and candy, with a profile that is reminiscent of root beer.
