GENERAL INFORMATION:

Hailing from Sri Lanka, this oil is produced by steam distillation specifically from the leaves of the cinnamon tree. While the bark of the tree produces the commonly known, aromatic spicy profile of cinnamon (thanks to its high concentration of cinnamic aldehyde), the leaf oil is much closer in profile to clove! High in eugenol, this oil was traditionally used for rituals, religious ceremonies, and incense.

What is Cinnamon Leaf Oil and Its Origin?

Cinnamon Leaf Oil is an essential oil extracted from the leaves of the cinnamon tree, scientifically known as Cinnamomum verum or Cinnamomum zeylanicum. Unlike cinnamon bark oil, which is derived from the bark, cinnamon leaf oil is prized for its high eugenol content, giving it a distinct spicy and warm aroma. Traditionally, this oil has been used in various cultures for its medicinal and aromatic properties. Its natural extraction process preserves its purity and therapeutic qualities, making it a popular choice in essential oil blends, perfumery, and holistic health practices worldwide.

Health Benefits of Cinnamon Leaf Oil

Cinnamon Leaf Oil offers numerous health benefits, primarily due to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It is commonly used to support respiratory health by clearing congestion and soothing coughs. Additionally, this oil promotes dental health when diluted properly, as it helps reduce oral bacteria and freshens breath. Its natural pain-relieving effects also make it useful for soothing muscle aches and joint discomfort. Regular use in aromatherapy can reduce stress and improve mood, making Cinnamon Leaf Oil a versatile natural remedy for overall well-being.

Practical Uses of Cinnamon Leaf Oil

Cinnamon Leaf Oil is versatile in its applications, ranging from aromatherapy and skincare to household cleaning.
