GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Ylang Ylang plant is a family member of the Custard Apple, which is also known as Chirimoya. Native of South Asia, Ylang Ylang means "flowers of flowers" in Tagalog (a language in the Philippines). Ylang Ylang flowers are known for their very fragrant aroma that is sweet floral fragrance. This particular quality is a blend of Ylang and other natural constituents to replicate the “extra” Ylang profile. Ylang Oil is broken out into multiple qualities during its prolonged distillation process. The very first fraction taken from the still is known as the “Extra” followed by I, II & III (The Complete which is a mixture of all fractions!). The Extra profile is known to have the lightest top notes and brightness out of all fractions, finding its way into numerous fine fragrance applications.
